Any Tezuka Osamu Fans out there?
I've been obsessed with 火の鳥 (Phoenix in English)
since they started to be release in the US a few years ago.
So far we're up to volume 7 of 13, vol.8 to be released in September,
and Vol. 9 in December.
I've been to anxious to await further releases,
so I've been (trying to) reading vol. 9-13 in the original japanese Manga.
I recently picked up a DVD of TV episodes of
火の鳥
in Japanese with (crappy) English subtitles.
but it seems that only vol. 1, 3, and 4 have been animated.
Anyone have any more info about the anime version of 火の鳥 ?
If you guys aren't familiar,
definitely pick up the US english translated Manga,
esp. vol. 4, 5, and 6.
Tezuka is most well known for Astro boy, and Kimba the white Lion,
but he also wrote a 12 volume (8 in US) series about the life of Buddha.
Check it out if you need some new Manga material...
